Textile: Oct’24 Textile exports up 13%YoY/1%MoM – By Taurus Research

- Textile exports arrived at USD 1.62Bn in Oct’24 as compared to USD 1.43Bn SPLY, reflecting a significant growth of 13%YoY and 1%MoM. The increase was primarily attributable to higher exports of knitwear, bed-wear, ready-made garments, and made up articles up 32%YoY, 13%YoY, 32%YoY and 13%YoY, respectively. Whereas, 4MFY25 textile exports increased by 10%YoY.
- In Oct’24, Basic Textile exports totaled ~USD 218Mn, down 23% YoY, largely attributed to decline in exports of cotton yarn, down 36%YoY. Whereas, Value Added and Other exports showed a significant increase of 24%YoY and 8%YoY.
- According to the Pakistan Cotton Ginning Association's cotton arrival report as of November 03, 2024, cotton arrivals reported a decline of 37%YoY, arriving at ~4.29Mn bales as compared to ~6.79Mn bales in the SPLY. Wherein, Punjab saw a 39%YoY decrease in cotton arrivals, totaling ~1.84Mn bales, while Sindh saw a decline of 36%YoY, totaling ~2.44Mn bales respectively.
