- PAMA released automobile sales data for Nov-2024 yesterday, highlighting continued YoY recovery. Four-wheeler sales surged by 57% YoY, driven by a 64% increase in passenger car sales, followed by a 38% rise in SUVs and a 36% growth in LCVs.
- On a MoM basis, however, four-wheeler sales declined by 22% in Nov-2024, primarily driven by a 24% drop in passenger car volumes and a 23% decline in SUV sales. This decrease aligns with historical trends, as auto sales typically experience a seasonal slowdown in the final months of the Calendar year.
- In 5MFY25, four-wheeler volumes reached 10,163 units, up 51% YoY. This recovery was supported by improved macroeconomic conditions, reduced plant shutdowns, and a stable exchange rate. Looking ahead, we anticipate the recovery trend to persist, with rising auto financing expected to be a key driver in the coming months.
