Sherman Securities
- We initiate our coverage on Crescent Steel & Allied Products (CSAP) with DCF based target price of Rs174/share, providing upside potential of ~64 % . The company is the leading large diameter (82 -120 inches) pipe manufacturer which contributed 3 ,964km to Pakistan’s gas transmission network of 12 ,758km during last three decades – capturing 30 % market share . The company holds a diversified portfolio dealing in various segments including Steel, cotton, Billets and Investment in Capital market . Following circular debt resolution in gas sector, we may see huge demand for steel pipes in Pakistan as local E&Ps are all set to embark huge capex allocation for next 5 years . CSAP with 30 % market share offers ideal indirect exposure in Pakistan gas sector. Currently, company’s sales is skewed towards water projects which will be substituted by robust demand from gas sector going forward .
- Currently, company holds strong order book value of Rs 8 . 4bn, mainly from water projects and Sui Norther Gas Pipeline (SNGP) . This includes remaining coated pipes contract of Rs 4 . 2bn from K - 4 phase 1 followed by Rs 2 . 7bn steel pipes contract from SNGPL and Rs 1 . 5bn contract of coated steel pipes . Moreover, CSAP is a major contender of winning K - 4 phase 2 water project which seems likely in FY25 and onwards
- On the demand from the Oil & Gas sector, we expect SNGPL & SSGC to incur higher capex on transmission and distribution network following improving liquidity and profitability . Furthermore, following ease of piling up of circular debt local E&Ps are expected to increase drilling which will generate demand for larger diameter pipes
