PSX Closing Bell: Gradual Gains

December 05, 2025 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Friday's trading session at 167,085.58, showing an increase of 802.03 points or 0.48%.

The index remained positive throughout the day showing an intraday high of 167,923.45 (+1,639.90) and a low of 166,369.72 (+86.17) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 225.68 million shares.

 

Of the 100 index companies 59 closed up, 39 closed down, while 2 were unchanged.

Top gainers during the day were PSEL (+4.25%), CPHL (+3.78%), SHFA (+3.31%), PGLC (+3.29%), and PPL (+3.19%).

On the other hand, top losers were BNWM (-6.97%), SSGC (-2.94%), PAKT (-2.81%), PIOC (-2.42%), and KTML (-2.32%).

 

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that propped up the index were FFC (+175.37pts), PPL (+152.96pts), OGDC (+85.92pts), UBL (+73.14pts), and SYS (+63.96pts).

Meanwhile, companies that dragged the index lower were MCB (-33.48pts), PIOC (-33.46pts), FABL (-29.00pts), NBP (-21.53pts), and BOP (-19.30pts).

 

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was supported by Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (+254.65pts), Fertilizer (+196.50pts), Cement (+96.71pts), Technology & Communication (+81.99pts), and Miscellaneous (+79.49pts).

While the index was let down by Commercial Banks (-42.56pts), Tobacco (-18.61pts), Chemical (-8.11pts), Automobile Parts & Accessories (-5.01pts), and Transport (-4.87pts).

 

In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 101,220.71 with a net gain of 477.65 points or 0.47%.

Total market volume was 686.83 million shares compared to 607.79m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs41.62 billion showing an increase of Rs10.40bn.

There were 363,816 trades reported in 477 companies with 254 closing up, 179 closing down, and 44 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 41,458 points or 33.00% during the fiscal year, whereas it has increased 51,959 points or 45.13% so far this calendar year.
