December 26, 2025 (MLN): The District Court has suspended the operation of a civil court order dated December 2, 2025, in a damages and defamation suit filed by K-Electric Limited (KE), and has reinstated an earlier stay order in favour of the company.
In a to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) and the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), KE said the suspension followed an appeal hearing held on December 19, 2025, against the impugned order in Civil Suit No. 111 of 2023 filed by the company against Syed Asad Ali Shah.
According to the disclosure, the appellate court restored the stay order until the next date of hearing, restraining the defendant from harassing K-Electric.
The restraint includes issuing letters or emails, using social media, making statements to third parties, or creating media pages to level allegations or malign KE and its officials.
KE said it had approached the District Court after being aggrieved by the civil court’s December 2 order.
