January 21, 2026 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Wednesday's trading session at 187,033.26, showing a decrease of 1,588.52 points or 0.84%.

The index traded in a range of 2,896.58 points showing an intraday high of 189,523.43 (+901.65) and a low of 186,626.85 (-1,994.93) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 703.36 million shares.

 

Of the 100 index companies 22 closed up, 77 closed down, while 1 were unchanged.

Top losers during the day were KTML (-5.22%), PTC (-2.82%), NML (-2.81%), GAL (-2.76%), and ILP (-2.75%).

On the other hand, top gainers were LOTCHEM (+7.21%), KEL (+3.85%), FFL (+2.98%), SAZEW (+2.89%), and PGLC (+2.55%).

 

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that dragged the index lower were MEBL (-197.35pts), ENGROH (-196.35pts), MCB (-134.24pts), HBL (-133.29pts), and SYS (-131.64pts).

Meanwhile, companies that added points to the index were PPL (+58.02pts), SAZEW (+39.35pts), NBP (+37.63pts), LOTCHEM (+28.96pts), and MARI (+24.79pts).

 

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was let down by Commercial Banks (-622.43pts), Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. (-218.91pts), Technology & Communication (-192.51pts), Cement (-156.89pts), and Fertilizer (-101.29pts).

While the index was supported by Power Generation & Distribution (+20.20pts), Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (+20.09pts), Chemical (+16.83pts), Property (+13.29pts), and Automobile Parts & Accessories (+9.23pts).

 

In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 112,355.64 with a net loss of 909.82 points or 0.80%.

Total market volume was 1,325.60 million shares compared to 1,225.81m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs69.58 billion showing an increase of Rs5.69bn.

There were 561,218 trades reported in 488 companies with 118 closing up, 331 closing down, and 39 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 61,406 points or 48.88% during the fiscal year, whereas it has increased 12,979 points or 7.46% so far this calendar year.
