PSX Closing Bell: Pause for the Bulls

January 27, 2026 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Tuesday's trading session at 188,202.85, showing a decrease of 384.81 points or 0.20%.

The index traded in a range of 1,983.09 points showing an intraday high of 189,521.32 (+933.66) and a low of 187,538.23 (-1,049.43) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 341.59 million shares.

 

Of the 100 index companies 34 closed up, 65 closed down, while 1 were unchanged.

Top losers during the day were GADT (-6.34%), DHPL (-5.10%), HCAR (-5.04%), KOHC (-3.47%), and EFERT (-3.39%).

On the other hand, top gainers were FFC (+3.21%), PSEL (+2.10%), BAFL (+2.09%), SYS (+1.75%), and MTL (+1.72%).

 

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that dragged the index lower were ENGROH (-299.74pts), EFERT (-173.94pts), HUBC (-164.03pts), LUCK (-134.21pts), and MCB (-84.54pts).

Meanwhile, companies that added points to the index were FFC (+604.47pts), MEBL (+115.67pts), PPL (+84.08pts), SYS (+82.88pts), and BAFL (+62.71pts).

 

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was let down by Cement (-374.19pts), Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. (-323.66pts), Power Generation & Distribution (-158.46pts), Oil & Gas Marketing Companies (-59.17pts), and Pharmaceuticals (-36.80pts).

While the index was supported by Fertilizer (+425.62pts), Commercial Banks (+157.37pts), Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (+137.81pts), Technology & Communication (+47.60pts), and Textile Composite (+16.19pts).

 

In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 112,423.22 with a net loss of 79.96 points or 0.07%.

Total market volume was 749.25 million shares compared to 870.45m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs53.06 billion showing a decrease of Rs4.14bn.

There were 457,895 trades reported in 485 companies with 160 closing up, 277 closing down, and 48 remaining unchanged.
