PSX Closing Bell: Slightly Off Key

February 17, 2026 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Tuesday's trading session at 173,150.41, showing a decrease of 1,303.52 points or 0.75%.

The index traded in a range of 4,437.96 points showing an intraday high of 176,131.35 (+1,677.42) and a low of 171,693.39 (-2,760.54) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 424.96 million shares.

 

Of the 100 index companies 31 closed up, 68 closed down, while 1 were unchanged.

Top losers during the day were PSO (-6.05%), PIOC (-5.78%), SSGC (-5.03%), FHAM (-4.91%), and PABC (-4.35%).

On the other hand, top gainers were SSOM (+10.00%), THALL (+4.74%), MTL (+3.32%), INIL (+3.07%), and KOHC (+2.99%).

 

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that dragged the index lower were PSO (-209.89pts), HBL (-174.81pts), ENGROH (-148.90pts), UBL (-126.86pts), and NBP (-119.77pts).

Meanwhile, companies that added points to the index were OGDC (+179.09pts), PPL (+87.35pts), MTL (+53.65pts), BOP (+40.75pts), and MARI (+36.06pts).

 

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was let down by Commercial Banks (-608.47pts), Oil & Gas Marketing Companies (-214.26pts), Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. (-179.71pts), Fertilizer (-112.37pts), and Cement (-84.27pts).

While the index was supported by Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (+286.11pts), Automobile Parts & Accessories (+31.44pts), Transport (+14.17pts), Insurance (+5.31pts), and Vanaspati & Allied Industries (+2.46pts).

 

In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 104,363.56 with a net loss of 607.69 points or 0.58%.

Total market volume was 716.04 million shares compared to 773.29m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs40.47 billion showing a decrease of Rs5.77bn.

There were 411,431 trades reported in 477 companies with 128 closing up, 293 closing down, and 56 remaining unchanged.
