PTC's subsidiary bags 180 MHz spectrum

March 13, 2026 (MLN): Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PSX: PTCL)'s wholly owned subsidiary, Pak Telecom Mobile Limited (PTML), has successfully secured 180 MHz spectrum in Pakistan’s latest Next Generation Mobile Services (NGMS)/5G auction.

This will strengthen its position to launch next-generation mobile services across the country.

According to a submitted to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), PTML acquired 60 MHz in the 2600 MHz band and 120 MHz in the 3500 MHz band, bringing its total spectrum allocation in the auction to 180 MHz.

The spectrum allocation results announced by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) are as follows:

The assignment stage, held on March 12, determined the specific frequency positions within each band. Following competitive bidding, PTML secured its preferred positions at a total price of $156.75 million.

The company will sign the NGMS/5G license with the PTA after completion of regulatory formalities and subsequently begin the rollout of 5G services across the country.

PTCL noted that the newly acquired spectrum will support improved nationwide cellular mobile broadband services for subscribers of PTML’s brands, including Ufone, Telenor, and Onic, as the operator prepares to strengthen its next-generation digital infrastructure.

Any further developments regarding the spectrum acquisition and licensing process will be communicated to the exchange in accordance with applicable regulations.
