March 16, 2026 (MLN): Abbott Laboratories (Pakistan) Limited (PSX: ABOT) reported a remarkable 52% increase in net profit, reaching Rs7.97bn for the year ended December 31, 2025, up from Rs5.23bn in CY24.
The company’s basic earnings per share (EPS) rose sharply to
Rs81.37, compared to Rs53.46 in the prior year, showing strong profitability.
ABOT’s stellar bottom-line growth was underpinned by a healthy expansion in revenue and efficient cost management.
Net sales climbed
10.6% year-on-year to Rs75.40bn from Rs68.18bn, while cost of sales rose
marginally by 1% to Rs48.95bn, driving gross profit up 34% to Rs26.45bn from
Rs19.74bn.
On the operating front, the company experienced moderate
inflationary pressures. Selling and distribution expenses increased 19% to
Rs11.09bn, while administrative expenses rose 16.6% to Rs1.36bn.
Other charges, however, spiked 89% to Rs1.59bn, partially
offset by a strong 60% growth in other income to Rs1.16bn.
These factors combined to boost total operating profit by
48.3% to Rs13.58bn.
A significant reduction in finance costs, which soared 220% to Rs75.66m from Rs23.61m last year, further strengthened ABOT’s bottom line.
Profit before income taxes jumped 49.6% to Rs13.50bn, and after accounting for
a 46% higher income tax expense of Rs5.53bn, the company recorded a net profit
of Rs7.97bn, marking a 52% YoY increase.
Dividend Announcement: In recognition of its strong
performance, Abbott Laboratories (Pakistan) Limited declared a final cash
dividend of Rs40 per share (400%) for CY25.
