OGDC brings Baragzai X-1 well into production

April 16, 2026 (MLN):  Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (PSX:OGDC) has commenced production from the Baragzai X-1 well in the Nashpa Exploration License, District Kohat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The slant well, drilled into the Lockhart Limestone formation, is now producing approximately 5,300 barrels of oil per day (BPD), 17 million standard cubic feet of gas per day (MMSCFD), and 15 metric tons of LPG daily.

An 8" x 8.1 km flowline connecting the Baragzai X-1 well to the Mela facility has been laid, enabling onward processing at Nashpa Plant. Processed gas is currently being injected into the SNGPL system.

OGDC, which holds a 56.45% working interest as operator of the Nashpa block, is partnered with Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) at 26.05% and Government Holdings (Private) Limited (GHPL) at 17.50%.

In Phase II, the company plans to drill two appraisal wells to delineate the reservoir and enhance production potential, with a full field development plan to follow based on appraisal outcomes.

The aforementioned  was disseminated through a notification to Exchange.

Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik inaugurated the commercial production from OGDC's Baragzai X-01 Well in Nashpa Block, according to an X post by the Ministry of Energy.
