May 11, 2026 (MLN):  Zong, Pakistan's leading Technology Service Enterprise, has signed a strategic partnership with Mashreq Bank Pakistan to embed telecom services directly within the Mashreq mobile banking application, marking a significant step toward converging financial and telecommunications services in the country.

Under the agreement, Mashreq customers will be able to perform mobile recharges, purchase bundle subscriptions, and complete other telecom-related payments without leaving the Mashreq app.

All transactions will be processed in real time through a unified, secure digital interface, according to a press release issued.

Commenting on the development, Zong's Executive Director Sales and Distribution, Mr. Faheem Durrani, said the partnership reflects the company's ongoing push to expand digital access through technology.

He added that embedding Zong's services into Mashreq's ecosystem would make essential telecom offerings more convenient for customers, further reinforcing Zong's identity as a technology-driven enterprise.

Muhammad Hamayun Sajjad, CEO of Mashreq Pakistan, said the bank remains focused on simplifying everyday banking and lifestyle needs for its customers.

He noted that as demand for mobile services grows, the integration with Zong positions the Mashreq app as a one-stop platform for both banking and essential telecom needs.

The collaboration is seen as a broader reflection of the growing convergence between Pakistan's financial and telecom sectors, with both companies signaling their intent to pursue further integrated digital solutions across the country.
