PSX Closing Bell: A Rough Start

October 27, 2025 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Monday's trading session at 162,163.81, showing a decrease of 1,140.32 points or 0.70%.

The index traded in a range of 1,804.22 points showing an intraday high of 163,570.83 (+266.70) and a low of 161,766.61 (-1,537.52) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 363.99 million shares.

 

Of the 100 index companies 32 closed up, 67 closed down, while 1 were unchanged.

Top losers during the day were PKGP (-5.08%), KTML (-4.55%), ISL (-4.15%), INIL (-3.74%), and FFL (-3.38%).

On the other hand, top gainers were AIRLINK (+10.00%), ILP (+4.84%), SEARL (+3.83%), KEL (+3.38%), and MUREB (+3.18%).

 

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that dragged the index lower were PSO (-119.60pts), LUCK (-105.73pts), UBL (-98.62pts), MARI (-92.90pts), and PPL (-88.42pts).

Meanwhile, companies that added points to the index were AIRLINK (+67.75pts), AKBL (+43.92pts), SEARL (+37.07pts), ILP (+35.05pts), and BAHL (+18.93pts).

 

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was let down by Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (-304.32pts), Commercial Banks (-212.22pts), Cement (-165.55pts), Oil & Gas Marketing Companies (-144.89pts), and Fertilizer (-82.55pts).

While the index was supported by Textile Composite (+7.89pts), Paper, Board & Packaging (+3.46pts), Pharmaceuticals (+3.31pts), Real Estate Investment Trust (+3.01pts), and Property (+2.61pts).

 

In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 51,354.24 with a net loss of 364.52 points or 0.70%.

Total market volume was 1,006.69 million shares compared to 1,041.17m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs34.82 billion showing a decrease of Rs0.19bn.

There were 403,434 trades reported in 479 companies with 157 closing up, 277 closing down, and 45 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 36,536 points or 29.08% during the fiscal year, whereas it has increased 47,037 points or 40.86% so far this calendar year.
