MettisGlobal
October 30, 2025 (MLN): Symmetry Group Limited (PSX: SYM) reported a profit after tax of Rs47m for the quarter ended September 30, 2025, representing a solid 13.69% increase from Rs41.3m in the corresponding period last year.
Earning per share stood at Rs0.16 compared to Rs0.14 in
SPLY, reflecting a 14.29% improvement in shareholder returns.
Revenue (net sales) grew 5.14% year-on-year to Rs188.4m from
Rs179.2m, demonstrating healthy top-line expansion during the period. Cost of
services increased 13.95% to Rs76.6m from Rs67.2m.
Gross profit remained relatively flat, declining marginally
by 0.15% to Rs111.8m against Rs112m, with the gross margin compressing to 59.3%
from 62.5% in the prior year, indicating moderate pressure from rising service
delivery costs despite revenue growth.
Administrative and selling expenses increased 17.35% to
Rs62.8m from Rs53.5m. Other income surged significantly by 292.43% to Rs9.83m
from Rs2.5m last year, providing substantial support to profitability.
Finance costs declined 33.05% to Rs7.12m from Rs10.64m in
the previous year, providing meaningful relief to the bottom line.
Operating profit declined 16.17% to Rs49m from Rs58.5m,
reflecting the impact of higher operating expenses.
Profit before levies and taxation increased 17.76% to
Rs51.7m from Rs50.3m. Taxation (net) fell sharply by 47.28% to Rs4.76m from
Rs9.02m in SPLY.
The company concluded 1QFY26 with a profit for the period of
Rs47m, delivering a net profit margin of 24.9% compared to 23.1% in 1QFY25.
The profit growth was driven by solid 5.14% revenue
expansion, a substantial 292% surge in other income, a 33% reduction in finance
costs, and a significant 47% decrease in taxation, which more than offset the
impact of a 17% increase in administrative and selling expenses and modest
gross margin compression, marking an improvement in overall financial
performance despite operational cost pressures.
