PSX Closing Bell: The Long and Winding Road

November 06, 2025 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Thursday's trading session at 159,096.78, showing a decrease of 481.41 points or 0.30%.

The index traded in a range of 2,338.15 points showing an intraday high of 160,590.77 (+1,012.58) and a low of 158,252.62 (-1,325.57) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 286.00 million shares.

 

Of the 100 index companies 35 closed up, 64 closed down, while 1 were unchanged.

Top losers during the day were HGFA (-4.35%), THALL (-3.98%), KEL (-3.66%), MLCF (-2.69%), and BWCL (-2.64%).

On the other hand, top gainers were PSEL (+9.64%), PIBTL (+5.18%), PKGP (+3.66%), PTC (+2.87%), and COLG (+2.64%).

 

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that dragged the index lower were UBL (-78.65pts), MEBL (-69.76pts), OGDC (-56.35pts), MLCF (-40.70pts), and ENGROH (-40.27pts).

Meanwhile, companies that added points to the index were PSEL (+139.76pts), COLG (+27.02pts), HUBC (+26.23pts), AKBL (+23.05pts), and PTC (+20.37pts).

 

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was let down by Commercial Banks (-183.61pts), Cement (-141.15pts), Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (-130.55pts), Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. (-57.22pts), and Oil & Gas Marketing Companies (-33.49pts).

While the index was supported by Miscellaneous (+148.17pts), Food & Personal Care Products (+27.20pts), Transport (+18.21pts), Power Generation & Distribution (+17.96pts), and Real Estate Investment Trust (+10.64pts).

 

In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 50,087.11 with a net loss of 157.38 points or 0.31%.

Total market volume was 957.30 million shares compared to 860.26m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs30.45 billion showing a decrease of Rs4.40bn.

There were 363,562 trades reported in 476 companies with 198 closing up, 231 closing down, and 47 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 33,469 points or 26.64% during the fiscal year, whereas it has increased 43,970 points or 38.19% so far this calendar year.
