Mari Energies forms JV to convert gas into LNG, CO₂

November 20, 2025 (MLN): Mari Energies Limited (PSX: MARI) has signed a joint venture agreement with Ghani Chemical Industries Ltd (GCI) to set up a new project company that will process exhaust gas from the Sachal Gas Processing Complex (SGPC) in Daharki, according to a company filing.

The project company will recover hydrocarbons from SGPC’s vent gas to produce liquefied natural gas (LNG) along with industrial- and food-grade carbon dioxide (CO₂).

Mari Energies will hold a 51% equity stake in the venture, while GCI will own the remaining 49%.

According to the filing, the initiative is expected to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from the field while creating additional revenue streams and economic value for stakeholders.
