SPEL adds 575 kW solar project to boost green energy capacity

December 2, 2025 (MLN): SPEL Limited (SPEL) has taken a major step forward in its Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) goals as the company has energized a 575-kilowatt (kW) solar power project, according to the Company's on PSX revealed today. 

This addition expands its renewable energy footprint and strengthens its push toward cleaner operations.

The new project builds on the company’s already installed 3.55-megawatt (MW) solar setup, raising SPEL’s total solar generation to more than 4.1 MW.

With the expanded capacity, SPEL now meets an estimated 24% to 29% of its annual electricity requirements through renewable sources.

According to the company, this milestone reflects a firm commitment to sustainable operations and long-term environmental responsibility.

SPEL aims to cut its carbon footprint and play a stronger role in building a “greener, cleaner Pakistan.”

The company also noted that its shift toward renewable power supports global sustainability standards that investors and stakeholders increasingly value, while improving overall energy efficiency.

On Monday, the scrip price of SPEL closed at Rs56.73, higher by Rs0.95 or 1.70% day-on-day (DoD).
