January 23, 2026 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Friday's trading session at 189,166.82, showing an increase of 1,478.66 points or 0.79%.

The index traded in a range of 2,929.07 points showing an intraday high of 189,566.64 (+1,878.48) and a low of 186,637.57 (-1,050.59) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 407.93 million shares.

 

Of the 100 index companies 36 closed up, 64 closed down.

Top gainers during the day were FFC (+8.75%), POL (+7.05%), FATIMA (+4.10%), EFERT (+4.10%), and APL (+3.17%).

On the other hand, top losers were PIOC (-10.00%), KEL (-5.07%), NESTLE (-2.81%), AKBL (-2.69%), and AGP (-2.48%).

 

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that propped up the index were FFC (+1514.19pts), EFERT (+204.24pts), POL (+194.37pts), HUBC (+158.42pts), and ENGROH (+134.38pts).

Meanwhile, companies that dragged the index lower were PIOC (-137.83pts), OGDC (-101.34pts), UBL (-89.91pts), NBP (-76.30pts), and PPL (-72.07pts).

 

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was supported by Fertilizer (+1795.43pts), Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. (+131.48pts), Power Generation & Distribution (+122.44pts), Leather & Tanneries (+29.56pts), and Automobile Parts & Accessories (+14.24pts).

While the index was let down by Cement (-237.60pts), Commercial Banks (-88.97pts), Technology & Communication (-60.30pts), Pharmaceuticals (-49.01pts), and Oil & Gas Marketing Companies (-46.60pts).

 

In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 112,809.65 with a net gain of 181.96 points or 0.16%.

Total market volume was 877.56 million shares compared to 1,069.31m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs58.59 billion showing an increase of Rs9.44bn.

There were 463,124 trades reported in 478 companies with 175 closing up, 264 closing down, and 39 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 63,540 points or 50.58% during the fiscal year, whereas it has increased 15,112 points or 8.68% so far this calendar year.
