February 06, 2026 (MLN): Attock Refinery Limited (PSX: ATRL) has shut down its Heavy Crude Distillation Unit effective February 5, 2026, as elevated gasoline inventories and weaker upliftment by oil marketing companies weigh on refinery operations, the company said in a to the Pakistan Stock Exchange.
The move came as the refinery faced unusually high stocks of Premier Motor Gasoline (PMG), prompting management to scale back part of its crude processing to avoid a full shutdown of operations.
Other crude units will continue to operate during the period, while downstream processing units will function normally, the company said.
The company will ensure committed volumes and uninterrupted dispatches for the current month despite the partial shutdown, signalling that supply obligations to customers will remain intact.
