March 24, 2026 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Tuesday's trading session at 153,966.36, showing an increase of 1,225.99 points or 0.80%.

Market sentiment was supported by easing regional tensions, as Pakistan positioned itself as a in the latest Iran US Israel crisis, providing hopes of a temporary cooling-off period.

The market was also supported by easing geopolitical fears after President Donald Trump declared a five day pause on planned strikes against Iran’s energy infrastructure.

The index remained positive throughout the day showing an intraday high of 157,442.68 (+4,702.31) and a low of 153,382.00 (+641.63) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 220.48 million shares.

 

Of the 100 index companies 55 closed up, 41 closed down, 3 were unchanged, while 1 remained untraded.

Top gainers during the day were ENGROH (+6.52%), HINOON (+4.31%), PGLC (+4.06%), PTC (+3.62%), and SYS (+3.38%).

On the other hand, top losers were KTML (-5.71%), KOHC (-4.79%), SSGC (-3.13%), PKGP (-3.09%), and SAZEW (-3.05%).

 

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that propped up the index were ENGROH (+567.18pts), FFC (+243.99pts), LUCK (+157.10pts), SYS (+130.07pts), and HUBC (+86.18pts).

Meanwhile, companies that dragged the index lower were MCB (-82.64pts), NBP (-52.02pts), SAZEW (-40.26pts), KOHC (-31.93pts), and NESTLE (-29.26pts).

 

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was supported by Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. (+582.76pts), Fertilizer (+271.81pts), Technology & Communication (+167.87pts), Cement (+159.54pts), and Power Generation & Distribution (+88.96pts).

While the index was let down by Commercial Banks (-105.00pts), Automobile Assembler (-46.40pts), Food & Personal Care Products (-35.69pts), Insurance (-15.44pts), and Miscellaneous (-11.23pts).

 

In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 92,315.62 with a net gain of 457.15 points or 0.50%.

Total market volume was 375.34 million shares compared to 326.64m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs22.98 billion showing an increase of Rs3.58bn.

There were 282,143 trades reported in 485 companies with 277 closing up, 141 closing down, and 67 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 28,339 points or 22.56% during the fiscal year, whereas it has decreased 20,088 points or 11.54% so far this calendar year.
