March 24, 2026 (MLN): Unity Foods Limited (PSX: UNITY) has been ordered by the Sindh High Court to engage in structured mediation to resolve ongoing corporate disputes, potentially expediting a resolution and avoiding protracted litigation.
In a filing with the Pakistan Stock Exchange on Tuesday, the
Karachi-based food processor said the court appointed retired Justice Mansoor
Ali Shah as mediator for JCM Nos. 13 and 14 of 2026, pending his formal
acceptance.
The petitioner has 14
days to initiate the mediation process, which is expected to conclude within 60
days.
The company described the court’s directive as a
“constructive and efficient mechanism,” aimed at accelerating dispute resolution,
reducing legal costs, and safeguarding operations.
Unity Foods emphasized that mediation will help prioritize
investor interests while minimizing disruption to its core business.
Management reassured stakeholders that the proceedings have
not resulted in any adverse findings against the company.
The firm said existing interim orders will remain in place,
and the court’s order does not affect day-to-day operations, financial
performance, or broader strategic plans.
