The government has decided against the full disclosure of federal civil servants' assets, citing security concerns. Finance Secretary Imdadullah Bosal informed the National Assembly Standing Committee on Finance and Revenue that, to meet IMF requirements, only selected information will be published by December.
The government is currently digitizing income and asset declarations for civil servants in BS-17 and above, replacing manual submissions with a dedicated FBR online portal. The deadline for digital filing is October 30, 2026. Parliamentarians have raised objections to the policy, contrasting it with the mandatory, full asset declarations required from politicians, including the President and Prime Minister.
