The Islamabad Police have sought Rs. 1 billion from the Ministry of Interior to cover expenses related to long marches and sit-ins in the capital, according to federal administration sources. The requested funds will finance the rental of over 1,200 containers, accommodation, and meals for more than 29,000 deployed security personnel.

Part of the budget will also be allocated for purchasing sandbags, tear gas guns, shells, and petrol. Security has been heavily reinforced across Islamabad ahead of the upcoming political demonstrations scheduled by opposition parties.
