پاکستان ٹیلی کمیونیکیشن اتھارٹی (PTA) نے وزارتِ انفارمیشن ٹیکنالوجی اینڈ ٹیلی کمیونیکیشن کے نئے مسودے (Telecommunication Competition Rules, 2026) میں تجویز پیش کی ہے کہ ٹیلی کام انضمام اور لین دین کے فیصلوں پر نظرثانی کی ایک سال کی حد ختم کی جائے۔
موجودہ مسودے کے تحت پی ٹی اے کے پاس فیصلہ جاری ہونے کے ایک سال کے اندر اسے تبدیل کرنے یا منسوخ کرنے کا اختیار ہے، جسے اب پی ٹی اے نے "جب بھی ضرورت ہو" کے اصول سے تبدیل کرنے کا مطالبہ کیا ہے۔ اس تبدیلی سے پی ٹی اے مارکیٹ کے بدلتے ہوئے حالات یا نئی معلومات کی بنیاد پر کسی بھی وقت پرانے فیصلوں کو دوبارہ کھول سکے گا۔
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has proposed removing the existing one-year time limit for reconsidering telecom merger and transaction approvals under the draft Telecommunication Competition Rules, 2026.
While the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication's draft currently permits a review or modification within one year of issuance, the PTA seeks the authority to reopen decisions 'as and when required' based on evolving market conditions or new material facts.
