Kohat Cement reports PAT of PKR 10.7bn (down 7.6%), skips dividend due to expansion plans.

Operational & Project Highlights
- Total Dispatches: Increased by 8.1% to 2.52 Million Metric Tons. Local dispatches increased 6.7% to 2.46 Million Tons, while exports grew 161.7% to 54,677 Tons.
- Greenfield Line (Khushab): Infrastructure development is currently underway. Machinery imports will be finalized once construction market conditions stabilize.
- 28.5 MW Coal-Fired Power Plant: Installation is progressing rapidly at Kohat. The plant is expected to go online by 2QFY27, materially reducing power consumption costs.
- Solar Energy: Installed solar capacity has reached 17.66 MW after an additional 2.32 MW was energized during the year.
Risks & Concerns
- Margin Squeeze: Intense pricing competition in the domestic cement market limited KOHC's ability to transfer higher costs to consumers.
- Input Costs: High fuel and energy prices, driven by Middle East geopolitical tensions, continue to pressure cost of sales.
Kohat Cement delivered a healthy operational year with volumetric dispatch growth of 8.1%, which mitigated some margins pressure. Despite strong EPS of PKR 11.64, the decision to retain cash for massive capital expenditure commitments means zero payout this year. Although this might dent short-term retail investor sentiment, the fast-progressing coal power plant and Greenfield expansions are set to significantly enhance future competitiveness.
